FAQs

Do you accept insurance?

I am not in-network with any insurance; however, I can provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your health insurance provider for potential partial or full reimbursement. Please speak with your insurance provider directly to determine if therapy services are covered by out-of-network benefits.

What is a Superbill?

A superbill is a document that itemizes the services you receive. You can submit this to your insurance for partial or full reimbursement, depending on your plan’s coverage. Your superbill is available monthly in the client portal and by email. Please speak with your insurance provider directly to determine if therapy services are covered by out-of-network benefits.

How often/how long are sessions?

Sessions last fifty minutes to one hour each. I typically recommend that all clients start with weekly sessions for the first month, if possible, so that we can properly build rapport and find our cadence. After that, most clients schedule recurring weekly or biweekly sessions as consistency is necessary for progress in therapy. Of course, I know that life, schedules, and finances can be prohibitive so I encourage you to discuss your concerns with me so we can identify the best unique plan for you.

I’ve never done therapy before. What should I expect?

Our very first session will be structured and focused on building a better understanding of your history and your goals. After that, I let the client lead. If you want to write and share a list of concerns, that’s great. If you have no idea where to begin, I will ask you questions to help you identify the best use of your time.

In-person or virtual?

I offer in-person sessions in Mount Pleasant at the bottom of the Ravenel Bridge on Coleman Boulevard. I also offer virtual sessions to anyone in the greater South Carolina area. That said, whenever possible, I recommend in-person sessions. In my opinion, the inconvenience is worth the clinical benefit of sharing a space.
